Access to knowledge is a fundamental right, and libraries are the gatekeepers of this right. Therefore, I firmly believe that all schools, both public and private, must have well-stocked libraries that provide students with ample opportunities to read and learn.
Yes! Internet is here and technology is all over...
Ideally, every classroom in schools should have a library or a dedicated reading corner, but at the very least, books should be readily available for students to access at a moment's notice. This will not only foster a love for reading but also:
- Support academic excellence
- Encourage critical thinking and curiosity
- Develop research skills and information literacy
- Prepare students for success in an increasingly complex world
Let us prioritise the establishment and maintenance of school libraries, and ensure that books are always within reach of our children. By doing so, we can empower them to become lifelong learners, innovators, and leaders."
