Getting rid of household enemies, by ArchBishop Duncan- William

Mathew 10:36 . And, a man's enemies shall be those of his own household.

Malachi 7;6 -For a son dishonors his father, a daughter rises up against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law-- a man's enemies are the members of his own household. But as for me, I watch in hope for the LORD, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.

Genesis 4:9
Then the Lord said to Cain, “Where is your brother Abel? “I don’t know,” he replied. “Am I my brother’s keeper?”

Abel was not killed from outside, he was killed from within. Abel was slain from within. The spirit of Abel had not left the families today. Has it ?  The difference is that they don't kill physically again, they kill spiritually.

They kill in different ways and forms.

1 . By slaying people's character through the spirit of character assassination. This is related to the spirit of mockery.

Until something is done with household wickedness, we will always be limited. When are we going to empower our own to do right? , when are we going to empower our own to succeed ? Until we stop killing our heroes, until we stop bringing down one another, there is no hope for Africa.

Household Enemies: Genesis 37: .....

Come now therefore, and let us slay him, and cast him into some pit, and we will say, Some evil beast hath devoured him: and we shall see what will become of his dreams.

If you remember vividly the story of the conspiracy against Jacob, you will realise that those  people scheming evil were not oursidets  but household enemies. These were bone of his  bones and flesh of his flesh. From the same loin. What were  Jacob brothers out to attack. ? His dreams. Your dreams make you an enemy in your own house. Joseph wasn't hated by oursiders, he was hated from within.

Your dream can set you up !!!

The conspiracy was from within. Joseph was later sold into slavery , not by another person but by members of his own family, because of the dreams. Your dreams has made you a target of attacks from the evils and wicked people within your household. Your dream can make you a target, your  dream can set you up for assassination. Your dreams can set you up to be eliminated before your time, even from within.

Remember, the spirit of Abel and the spirit of the brothers of Jacob are  still alive today.

Judges 9:5

Judges 9:5 Amplified Bible (AMP)
Then he went to his father's house at Ophrah and murdered his brothers the sons of Jerubbaal, seventy men, [in a public execution] on one stone. But Jotham the youngest son of Jerubbaal was left alive, because he had hidden himself.

Pray: I will escape the sword of the enemies and the sword of my brethren.

Why did we kill one another, why do we character assassinate.

We do so and it has become a vicious cycle because we can not handle opposition. An opposition is simply somebody who has an opposite opinion to yours. But,  how do we deal with opposition, ? We must kill him, we  must eliminate him.

Whatever they meant for evil, it will turn for good for me  IJN.

Psalms 55:12 In-Context

12 If an enemy were insulting me, I could endure it; if a foe were rising against me, I could hide. But it is you, a man like myself, my companion, my close friend,,  with whom I once enjoyed sweet fellowship at the house of God, as we walked about among the worshipers.

We are always carried away. We look elsewhere for the enemies, which can easily be spotted within...!!!

We are always looking at other places , looking for enemies where they do not exist, instead of looking at the right place-within. There is wickedness in our families, and there are wickedness in nation.

Remember how Absalom , son of David Rose against him and conspire to undermines his own territory. He conspired with Ayitophael, Solomon great grand father.

The story of David, Absalom, and Ahithophel is a biblical narrative found in 2 Samuel 13-18.

David, the king of Israel, had a son named Absalom, who was a charismatic and ambitious young man. However, Absalom became resentful of his father's leadership and began to secretly gather support among the Israelites to overthrow David.

Ahithophel, a wise and respected advisor to David, betrayed the king and joined Absalom's rebellion. Ahithophel's counsel helped Absalom gain initial successes against David.

However, David had a loyal friend, Hushai, who pretended to support Absalom but actually worked to undermine Ahithophel's plans. Hushai's efforts led to Ahithophel's advice being disregarded, and ultimately, Absalom's rebellion failed.

As Absalom fled, he got his head caught in a tree, and Joab, David's general, killed him. Ahithophel, realizing his betrayal had failed, returned home and took his own life.

This story highlights themes of family dynamics, power struggles, loyalty, and the consequences of betrayal. It also showcases David's forgiveness and mercy, as he mourned the loss of his son despite Absalom's rebellion against him.

The experience of Samson the great .

Then three thousand men from Judah went down to the cave in the rock of Etam and said to Samson, “Don’t you realize that the Philistines are rulers over us? What have you done to us?”

He answered, “I merely did to them what they did to me.”

12 They said to him, “We’ve come to tie you up and hand you over to the Philistines.”

Samson said, “Swear to me that you won’t kill me yourselves.”

13 “Agreed,” they answered. “We will only tie you up and hand you over to them. We will not kill you.” So they bound him with two new ropes and led him up from the rock

Lesson : You should rather fear the sword of your brethren, than the sword of your enemy.

Jesus was betrayed with a kiss.

Pray that those you trust and those you place your life on their shoulders will not be the ones to betray you at the prime  of your life..

2king 11; 1 and 2 :

1a When Athaliah, the mother of Ahaziah, saw that her son was dead, she began to kill off the whole royal family. 2But Jehosheba,* daughter of King Joram and sister of Ahaziah, took Joash, Ahaziah's son, and spirited him away, along with his nurse, from the bedroom where the princes were about to be slain.

Summary: The Bible says, ad it is in the beginning of time, so it is , so shall it be . The bottomline here us that many people are betrayed  by their friends  close associates, family members and those they are close to. For, instance, it is said that a snake cannot bite you if it is not close to you so, as brethren, we should rather be more afraid of the outside enemies, than the household enemies. MAY God help us all...Amen
