OBASANJO ALWAYS SUPPORTED MY PARENTS,ODEDINA WROTE IN GLOWING APPRECIATION.



My father, Pa Titus Adesegun Odedina (1932 - 2024), had a glorious burial ceremony on Friday, the 26th of July, 2024.  While we will provide a detailed appreciation later, I wish to share the first set of photos and express our gratitude for your support, prayers, and gifts.

We begin by acknowledging His Excellency, Baba Olusegun Obasanjo, former President of Nigeria, who stayed with us throughout the reception and hosted His Imperial Majesty, the Deji of Akureland, who arrived in Abeokuta a day before the event with an entourage of thirteen, including High Chiefs. Baba Olusegun Obasanjo has always supported my parents, and they were often beneficiaries of his generosity. Shortly before my father passed, he and my mother had an extensive phone conversation with Baba and Mama Obasanjo.






His Excellency, President of the African Development Bank, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, and Mama Adesina stayed with us from the beginning until the burial. Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, a great admirer of my father, often hosted and commented on his music and jokes.

Her Excellency, the Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engineer  Noimot Salako-Oyedele honored us with her presence at the reception, which is a remarkable presence of the Ogun State government.




We appreciate the presence of the Alake of and Paramount Ruler of  Egbaland Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, the  Olowu of Owu Kingdom,Oba Saka Matemilola, Ebumawe of Ago Iwoye,Oba AbdulRasaq Adesina Adenugba, Oba Olorunshola Akinyelure, the Odogbo of Ode-omi in Ikaleland, Ondo State (my classmate), High Chief Benson Enikuomehin from Ilaje, Olu of Sode in Obafemi/Owode LGA, Baale of Alako in Obafemi/Owode LGA, and Baale of Ayerose.

Kabiyesi Alake of Egbaland later hosted the visiting Deji of Akure Land to a sumptous lunch with Kabiyesi Olowu of Owu Oba Professor Saka Matemilola and other Egba Chiefs and Kabiyesis including the Olu of Itori, Oba Akorede Akamo.

We also acknowledge the presence of the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Ogun State, Hon. Oluwasina Ogungbade SAN; the Honourable Commissioner for Works, Hon. Adebowale Akinsanya; the Honourable Commissioner for Forestry,Hon. Oludotun Taiwo; the Honourable Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Oladimeji Oresanya; the Honourable Commissioner for Transportation, Engr. Dairo Olugbenga; and the Honourable Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Hon. Olatunji Odunlami.

Additionally, we appreciate the Accountant General of Ogun State, Aregbesola, Mrs. Onabanjo, of the  Ogun State Teaching Service  Commission, Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Saka, Dotun Sorunke, Labour Leader TUC Comrade  Bunmi Fajobi, Emmanuel Bankole (Former NLC Leader), Dr. Goke Rauf, Rector DS, Adegbenro Polytechnic, former Rectors of MAPOLY, and the present Rector , Dr. Adeola Odedeji as well as Prof. Adebayo, Deputy Vice Chancellor FUNNAB, Agba Akin Egba,  Taiwo Are Oluwa, Osi Egba Chief Bode Mustapha, Chief Kufile, Oluwo Erunbe Chief Adesiji, Baale Ayerose, Alako, Sode, Olokuta CDA, Ifesowapo Alako CDA, Obalende Alapata, and many others too numerous to mention.

We also appreciate Former Governor of Ogun State, Chief Olusegun Osoba, who sent a representative, Former DG of the Nigerian Law School Prof. Nasir Tijani, the management of Fanmilk as represented by Company Secretary Barrister Kunle and Barrister Benjamin Ogunmodede

Lastly, we are grateful for the condolence letters and gifts from the Alake of Egbaland,  Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, His Imperial Majesty Oba Aladetoyinbo Oyinlade Aladelusi, Auto Motor Spare Part Sellers Association (AMSAS), Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, Federal College of Agriculture, Akure, Olokuta CDA, and  Cheif Taiwo Adeoluwa and Associates former Secretary to the State Government.
