Muslims have been urged to ensure that their worldly and religious activities are backed up by good deeds that is carried out with good intentions in order for it to be acceptable to God .
Renowned Islamic Scholar and the Grand Mufti of Ilorin Emirate, Sheikh Sulaimon Faruk Onikijipa stater this on Monday at the One Year Remembrance and Special Fidau in honour of Prince Bola Ajibila and the 2024 Ramadan Lecture of the Islamic Mission for Africa.
According to the Cleric, no matter how diverse the worldly deeds of man are,if they are devoid of the fear of God, they would amount to nothing before the creator of mankind.
He said for instance If the remarkable work of Prince Bola Ajibola had not benefited mankind, it would have amounted to nothing before his creator, while thanking him for bestowing good legacies to mankind wirh the establishment of Crescent University Abeokuta and the Islamic Mission for Africa (IMA)
Speaking on the theme " Sustaining Judge Bola Ajibola's Remarkable Islamic Legacy: The Way Forward, Sheikh Onikijipa Eulogised Prince Ajibola for his good deeds which have outlived him and are to the benefit of mankind.
He challenged the congregation,particularly the children to ensure that the good legacies left behind by Prince Ajibola are preserved and sustained, adding that his successors must also tow the line by ensuring that the job is done conscientiously.
The President of Islamic Mission for Africa ,Prince Muhammed Ma'ruf Adesegun Ajibola while appreciating the Cleric also said the legacies left behind by his father is a great lesson for the children and mankind to ensure that good deeds done with good intentions accompany religious and worldly activities as it is the ultimate, just as the Islamic Cleric had pointed out
The Olowu of Owu Professor Saka Matemilola who is one of the Special guests at the occasion, in a remark observed that it is not possible for everyone to establish a University like the Crescent University or an Islamic Legacy Centre like the Islamic Missin for Affica ( IMA) , but urged the congregation to strive to contribute in whatever way they can to the good cause as such acts will surely come with its rewards.
Dignitaries at the event include the former Nigeria Ambassador to the United Kingdom,Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Isola, the Secretary- General ,Ogun State Muslim Council, Alhaji Kamaldeen Akintunde, Vice Chancellor Crescent University Abeokuta, Professor Ibrahim Gbajabiamila, Former Editor of Punch Newspaperand an Elderstaeman, ,Alhaji Nojeem Jimoh, Representative of Senator Ibikunle Amosun, Alhaji Bola Adeyemi , Head of Department of Mass Communication Crescent University Abeokuta ,Dr. Kola Adesina among others.
