The Senior Pastor of Kingsway International Christian Centre in London, Pastor Mathew Ashimolowo has said that there is great poverty in the land, urging the nation's leaders to address the chronic poverty and hunger.
He warns that"there was fire on the mountain," saying urgent attention is needed to remedy the situation.
Pastor Ashimolowo spoke on Monday in Abeokuta on the topic " The Mark of a Good Man," in his homily at the 60th birthday celebration of the Founder and Lead Pastor of Victory Life Bible Church International, Apostle Lawrence Achudume.
The renowned international preacher further stated that the gaps between the haves and the have-nots is too wide, saying this portents grave danger as it is a time bomb only waiting to explode.
According to Pastor Ashimolowo government needs to take urgent action to address the growing poverty among the generality of the people, lamenting that the purchasing power of the people has been greatly eroded by hyper inflation occasioned by dwindling fortunes of the naira.
Singing the lyric from the popular song by Asha, Pastor Ashimolowo observed that there was fire on the mountain and unfortunately nobody seems to be on the run,warning that something urgent must be done as majority of the people now go to bed hungry.
The Man of God while taking a look at what is going on in the body of Christ lamented the fact that people have deviated from the gospel of christ, saying when he looks at what is going on, he wonders whether people are practicing fake or genuine gospel.
Pastor Ashimolowo while describing the celebrant as a learner and teacher said Apostle Achudume carries the mark of a good man, because he carries God's presence with him, have intimacy with God and have the grace of God radiating around him.
Pastor Ashimolowo continued by saying that another mark of a good man is that unusual prosperity do follow them, they are always a city leader and king maker and someone who commands respect and a Prince above Princes, while they are always full.of wisdom and truth and they are reputable and respected, saying all these are traits found in Apostle Achudume.
The Governor of Akwa-Ibom State Umo Bassey Uno who was represented by his Deputy, Senator Akon Eyakenyi described Apostle Achudume as a unifying factor who has helped to unite the politicians as well as Chriatians in Akwa- Ibom State.
According to Governor Uno Apostle Achudume is a good man who goes for what is right and a man that is always jovial, but tells the truth at all times, even to the people in power.
Also speaking, wife of the Ogun State Governor, Mrs Bamidele Abiodun said for over three decades, Apostle Achudume has been a light to the world who has dedicated his life to the work of the ministry, saying any encounter with him is an encounter for good, while praying that God grant him the grace to finish the good work he has started.
Earlier, the Presiding Pastor, Citadel Global Community Church, Pastor Tunde Bakare while eulogising the celebrant said he is a respected and anointed man of God who must be supported.
He said : " But for you, i won't be here physically. You did all so well and we must celebrate you. Thank you for keeping the flag flying and flying the banner of Christ. Welcome to the sixth floor and congratulations to you on your diamond age".
The celebrant in a remark described himself as a man helped by God and someone who enjoys a special grace that keeps radiating around him.
" I am a man helped by God. I know where I'm coming from. I know where I would have been and I know where God has taken me", he said.
What would I say, but that God has helped me, that is the summary of my life."
Recounting his journey through life and how the traditional priest in his village had predicted his monumental rise in the Christian Ministry, Achudume said " One thing I can remember is that the ifa oracle had told my great grand mother that the man( Lawrence Achudume) will not serve the God that they serve, but will serve the white man's God ( Christianity) and it began to work out.There are challenges on the way until we get to where we are.
While eulogising his wife for being a strong pillar of support, he said: " if my wife and church members had given me problem, I would have died by age 40. God has blessed me with wonderful people and I owe them a debt of love after the birthday celebration."
The event witnessed the launch of an autobiography on Apostle Achudume entitled " The man helped by God".

Apostle Achudume was also honoured by retinue of God's General who were physically present at the event among whom are the former President of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria
