The Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic, ilaro has appointed a Cororate member of the Nigerian Institute of Town Plannjng, Town Planner, Lukmon Lasisi as the Deputy Rector in charge of Administration.
Until his appointment, he was the Dean School of Environmental Studies of the institution.
Tpl.Lasisi holds a Bsc in Urban and Regional Planning from Obafemi Awolowo Univeesity,Ile-ife.
He had Masters and M.Phil in the same discipline at the University of Ibadan and currently undergoing his Doctoral studies in the same institution.
A corporate member of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (NITP) and a Registered Town Planner, Tpl Lasisi had a stint with journalism between 1993 to 2001 where he rose to the position of state correspondent in the defunct Daily Sketch.
Upon joining the academic in 2001, he had since taught Urban and Regional Planning at the Polytechnic Ibadan and the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro.
He had been Head of Department of Urban and Regional Planning among several other important positions held at FPI in the last 20 years.
Tpl. Lasisi has equally served the Ogun state chapter of NITP as PRO, Assistant Secretary, and General Secretary at various times.
His major research interests include environmental planning, Urban liveability and Tourism planning.
He has published widely in both local and international journals,and authored four standard textbooks besides numerous other collaborative academic works in the field of urban planning.
