In its bid to leverage on the Ogun State Government’s Agricultural and Industrial drives, a fertilizer producing company, Indorama Eleme Fertilizer and Chemical Limited, based in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State, has sought partnership with Ogun State Government for fertilizer supply.
A delegate from the Company, Mr. Rishi Raj Magariya in a courtesy visit to the State Ministry of Agriculture, expressed his company’s willingness to supply farmers in the State with fertilizer, expressing optimism that the product will make local farmers’ crops yield maximum output which in turn, will yield better profitability.
Responding, the Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Adeola Odedina assured the company of the Ministry’s support with Agricultural best practices, as plans are underway to train over 30,000 young farmers across the State, in crop related fields.
Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Dr. Dotun Sorunke, expressed State Government’s readiness to provide enabling environment for prospective Agro investors for a seamless Private Partnership Participation which will serve as a link between agro-investors and farmers.
In their remarks, the Consultant to the Governor on Agriculture, Dr. (Mrs) Angel Adelaja-Kuye and the Acting General Manager, Ogun State Agro Services Corporation, Mr. Lanre Adeyinka, stated that beyond the supply of fertilizers, the Company stands to gain lots of other benefits in Ogun State, among which include Opportunities to showcase the company’s products, establishment of the company in Ogun State and others.
